According to some you can't marry after 40. Character death of old age is a limit. But if you will have spouce/children you will continue as them. Maybe also as companions. There was a main quest 10y limit for completing it, if you didn't you couldnt create your own kingdom, but I think that's fixed in recent patch.

You guys may think guy is joking around but in medieval times king had more then one nobles an merchants had more then one only when the christian came is when you had one wife so there no religion in game so why only one wife don’t no the same thing happen in warband. #9.
