Re: Land Cruiser 4.5 V8 diesel consumption. Mine is a 2015 with 75 000. Bigger pipe, new snorkel head and chipped. Still hell heavy. Was towing a 4m cattle trailer @ 120 km/h empty to Swakopmund ( 380 km) one tank mo#@toe = 85l. Took it a little easier back , fully loaded = 76l gone.

Our tow test saw fuel consumption climb to 16L/100km.

2020 Toyota LandCruiser 200 GXL: Engine (capacity, cylinders, type) 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel: Power and torque (with RPM) 200kW @ 3600rpm, 650Nm @ 1600–2600rpm Though figures for the Land Cruiser 70 series have yet to be confirmed, it seems likely the 4-cylinder motor would offer more torque as well as improved fuel economy when compared with the aforementioned larger-capacity (and substantially older) engines. In the Toyota Hilux GR Sport, the 2.8 GD-6 engine makes 165 kW and 550 Nm.
76 Cruiser about the same dimensions as a Fortuner. 76 Turning circle 12.6m Fortuner 11.6 Swambo find the 76 easy to drive. V8 power more or less on par with a D4D Fortuner. Beter low down torque but a D4D will outrun it in a sprint.
Fuel consumption at average 110 kms/hr was 10.71 l/100 kms which was a pleasant surprise. Other surprises: good driving position, supportive seats, Prado-spec sat nav/CD/aux input/USB set up, good grunt up hills, wind-up-able to 150kms/hr without any effort.
For those who bemoaned the death of the Land Cruiser in 2021—ourselves included—your prayers have been Gas V8. Displacement (liters/cubic inches) 5.7L/346 EPA Fuel Economy Equivalent OHYnYW.
