I have Tammy 150-600 (G1), but it doesn't work with R. I've decided to sell it, and buy something else. Because there is no RF 100-400mm + 1.4x for R yet, my choises are either 100-400mm ii or Sigma 150-600mm C. I've tried to find conparisons between these (560mm vs 600mm); some say Sigma is sharper than Canon with extender, some say the opposite.
And that will only be with several of the center AF points. (The 5DIII is the only non-1D series camera to offer this, all others require f5.6 or larger.) As mentioned, putting a 2X (that "costs" two stops of light) on the 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 makes that into an effective 200-800mm f9-f11 lens. So when that registers with the camera, AF is turned
The Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports lens has a large focus ring, and it is ridged for easier grip too. There are hard stops at both ends of the range, making it easier to set focus at infinity. Polariser users should be pleased that the massive 105mm filter thread doesn't rotate on focus.
For good measure I’ve also added the Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports (Sigma 150-600 HSM Sports”) and Tamron SP AF 150-600mm f5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 (“Tamron 150-600”) to the mix. Although both lenses are older DSLR designs they were popular lenses then and still can be used via Sigma’s MC-11 Canon EF to Sony E mount converter

Sigma 150-600 with the Canon 2x iii extender? Nov 12, 2020. Can anyone confirm if the Sigma 15-600 contemporary will attach and function with the Canon 2x iii attached? Thanks a million.
